Near Tragedy at the Track

A sled at the front of grid had trouble stalling and apparently started in gear and took off, straigh into a spectator zone and your's truly!

Two guys got bounced off likes cows on a cow catcher while the driver fell off and pulled the kill switch.

It ended up 2 feet from my feet. The two guys were all right and the driver was just shaken and humiliated. If the sled hadn't stopped as soon as it did, another 4 people would have been hit.

Yikes. Really a freaky thing you would never imagine happening.

Hah! I guess this may be a northern thing.

Sled = Snowmobile converted with rollers and a slick tread.

They lay down 10-11 second runs at 120-130mph.

Yeah I got three runs. 13.9's on all of them. Very happy!

I guess I'm not up on my terms. What's a "sled" at the track?

Maybe we have sleds at the two tracks I go to, but I don't know what they are.
